The Challenge

Lisa D. Foster needed a modern website without sacrificing the search visibility and conversion infrastructure that had already been established on the existing site.

The website was running on an aging Allegiant Pro / CPOThemes setup with technical and structural issues that made the platform more difficult to maintain and created unnecessary SEO complexity.

The key challenges included:

  • Legacy theme architecture requiring replacement
  • Duplicate portfolio URL patterns
  • Deep pagination creating unnecessary crawl activity
  • A fragile legacy plugin/theme dependency structure
  • Approximately 300 existing blog posts that needed to retain their permanent URLs
  • Three important portfolio service pages that needed to remain accessible at their existing /portfolio/ URLs
  • Existing coaching CTAs and booking flows that could not be disrupted

The rebuild also needed to preserve the client’s existing conversion paths, including the Leadership Skills Audit, Calendly booking, contact forms, and signup flows.

The objective was to create a cleaner, easier-to-manage Elementor website while protecting existing SEO equity and keeping the established conversion journey intact.

Our Approach

We used a structured five-milestone process combining website redesign, WordPress development, technical SEO, redirect management, and controlled production deployment.

1

Discovery, SEO Mapping & Technical Planning

Before beginning the redesign, we audited the existing website structure and identified which elements needed to be:

  • Kept
  • Rebuilt
  • Redirected
  • Removed

The audit covered:

  • Existing URLs
  • Custom post types
  • Duplicate URL structures
  • Pagination behavior
  • Plugin inventory
  • GSC and GA4 baselines
  • Existing conversion paths

A specific URL and redirect strategy was established before development began to minimize the risk of losing existing search equity during the rebuild.

2

Elementor Foundation & Homepage Rebuild

The new website was built on Hello Elementor with a custom child theme and Elementor Pro.

We rebuilt the website’s core visual framework, including:

  • Header
  • Footer
  • Global design elements
  • Homepage structure
  • Navigation
  • Responsive layouts

The homepage conversion flow was carefully rebuilt without changing the established destination of the client’s primary CTAs.

The three homepage CTAs continued directing users to the Leadership Skills Audit, ensuring the existing conversion journey remained intact rather than being unnecessarily redesigned.

3

Core Pages & Coaching Services

The next phase focused on rebuilding the primary pages and coaching content within the new Elementor architecture.

We rebuilt:

  • Services
  • About
  • Coaching FAQs
  • ROI Calculator
  • Contact
  • Flash
  • Three portfolio service detail pages

The existing /portfolio/ URLs were preserved for the service pages to protect their established search paths.

The Contact page retained the existing Forminator and Calendly functionality, ensuring visitors could continue to submit inquiries and schedule coaching sessions.

4

Blog Templates, Redirects & SEO Cleanup

A major part of the project involved migrating the website without unnecessarily changing its existing SEO structure.

We created new blog templates while keeping the existing blog post permalinks intact across the site’s approximately 300 blog posts.

We also implemented the approved 301 redirect strategy, including redirects for:

  • /cpo_portfolio/ → /portfolio/
  • /services-2/ → /services/
  • Other approved archive and URL cleanups

To address pagination-related crawl noise, we implemented a template-level noindex, follow strategy for archive pages 2 and beyond.

Legacy Allegiant and CPO dependencies were also removed from the rebuild path, allowing the new Elementor architecture to operate independently from the previous theme system.

5

Staging, QA & Production Migration

Rather than rebuilding directly on the live website, the new platform was developed and tested in a staging environment.

Before production deployment, we validated:

  • Redirects
  • Forms
  • Calendly booking
  • Homepage CTAs
  • Responsive layouts
  • Critical page functionality
  • SEO configurations

A manual production backup of both files and database was created before deployment.

The website was then moved from Bluehost staging to production and subjected to post-launch verification.

After deployment, we addressed staging remnants and production configuration issues involving:

  • Search-engine visibility
  • Redirect path remapping
  • robots.txt
  • Pagination
  • .htaccess conflicts

This provided a controlled launch while maintaining a rollback point if required.
